Publication Etchics

The Asia Pacific Journal of Cancer Research (APJCR) is dedicated to upholding the highest scientific integrity and excellence standards. To ensure the quality of the work published, the journal provides comprehensive guidelines for authors, reviewers, and publishers, outlining their roles and responsibilities in the publication process.

For Authors

1. Manuscript Preparation and Submission

  • Originality and Scope: Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original works that have not been previously published or are under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts should align with the journal's focus and scope, covering topics relevant to cancer research in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Manuscript Formatting: Authors should prepare their manuscripts following the journal's specific formatting guidelines, which include detailed instructions on structure, citation style, and figure/table presentation. Submissions should be written in clear, concise English, with all necessary technical terms and abbreviations defined.
  • Ethical Compliance: Authors must adhere to ethical standards, including obtaining necessary approvals from ethics committees for studies involving human or animal subjects. Informed consent must be obtained from all human participants, and details of this consent must be included in the manuscript.
  • Plagiarism Policy: APJCR has a strict plagiarism policy, allowing no more than 10% similarity in submitted manuscripts. Authors are responsible for ensuring their work is free from plagiarism, and submissions will be screened using plagiarism detection software.
  • Data Integrity: Authors must ensure that the data presented in their manuscripts is accurate and complete. They should be prepared to provide raw data upon request and are encouraged to deposit their data in publicly accessible repositories.
  • Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their research. This includes financial, personal, or professional affiliations that may affect the research outcomes.
  • Acknowledgments and Funding: Authors should acknowledge all individuals and organizations contributing to the research, including funding sources. It is important to provide detailed information about the role of funders in the research process.

2. Manuscript Submission Process

  • Online Submission: Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal's online submission system. Authors are required to register with the system, provide accurate contact information, and specify their role in the research.
  • Cover Letter: A cover letter must accompany the submission, briefly summarizing the manuscript's contribution to the field and its relevance to the journal's scope. Authors should also highlight any novel aspects of their research.
  • Peer Review Process: Submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors should be prepared to respond to reviewers' comments and make necessary revisions to their manuscript. The journal encourages authors to view the review process as a collaborative effort to enhance the quality of their work.

For Reviewers

1. Role and Responsibilities

  • Expertise and Confidentiality: Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the manuscript's subject area. They must maintain confidentiality throughout the review process, refraining from discussing the manuscript with anyone outside the review process.
  • Objective and Constructive Feedback: Reviewers are expected to provide objective, detailed, and constructive feedback. Their comments should focus on the manuscript's scientific validity, originality, relevance, and clarity. Personal criticism of the authors is inappropriate.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their reviews within the specified timeframe. If a reviewer feels unable to meet the deadline or lacks the necessary expertise to review a manuscript, they should promptly notify the editor.
  • Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could bias their review, such as financial relationships or personal connections to the authors. If a conflict exists, reviewers should recuse themselves from the review process.

2. Review Process

  • Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts based on criteria such as the originality and significance of the research, the validity of the methodology, the clarity of the results, and the relevance of the discussion. Reviewers should also assess whether the conclusions are supported by the data presented.
  • Recommendations: Reviewers are asked to recommend one of the following actions: accept without revisions, accept with minor revisions, accept with major revisions, or reject. Detailed justifications for these recommendations should be provided.
  • Confidential Comments to the Editor: In addition to their comments for the authors, reviewers may provide confidential comments to the editor. These comments can include concerns about ethical issues, plagiarism, or other matters that might influence the editorial decision.
